Good News Ahead for U.S. Apartment Market (Brian Ives) Saturday, 18 February 2012 14:24 Over the last few years the U.S. apartment market achieved notable success in a struggling economy. With the addition of “Echo Boomers” entering the workforce, the apartment sector looks to continue the positive market trend in the future. These were some of the observations shared by guests on a recent episode of the national talk radio station, the “Commercial Real Estate Show.” Occupancy rates, future development locations and rent growth were a few of the market topics discussed.

Indeed, a well-located unit in a middle-class neighborhood can produce an extra $200 to $1,000 per month after expenses.
The Story of the Accidental Landlord (MarketWatch) Saturday, 28 January 2012 12:42 CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — Jeannette Boccini thought she had found a great renter, someone who would take extra-good care of her town house. Then the nightmare began. The tenant repeatedly harassed the neighbors, complained that the wood chips in the community playground were toxic, and informed Boccini on Christmas morning that someone was playing Christmas carols too loudly. But the final straw was the night the tenant showed up at Boccini’s door to report there was dust all over the mailbox.
Measure Y Spending Helping SLO Friday, 27 January 2012 13:02 Back In June of 2006, a half-cent sales tax increase, dubbed Measure Y, was approved by San Luis Obispo city residents putting roughly an extra $5.5 million in the general fund every year. In a recent article titled "Y all the fuss?" in the New Times reports how those funds are being used.  Regardless our estimation is that it benefits property values and minimizes damage caused by the recession.
